Maleficent

As a little girl, sleeping beauty was always my favorite classic princess movie. But Maleficent scared the hell out of me. Even as I grew up, she was never one of my favorite villains. So when I heard that Disney was doing a live action version, I really didn't care that much. Then I started seeing photos and I was like...Okay Angelina Jolie could pull this off, But I bet they make her out to be the victim...and boy was I wrong. I got the movie after it came out and the first time I watched it, I was hooked. Angelina Jolie is the PERFECT Maleficent. And I love what they did with her and Aurora's story. I always thought King Stefan was shady, so I liked the direction they went with him as well.....
Sweet little Maleficent around the age of maybe 6 or 7....could be younger. I do love that they showed her childhood. As she is made out to be a pure villain in Sleeping Beauty and the first season of Once upon a time.

And she is a FAIRY so points for me! I love fairies and her wings are beautiful.
Maleficent does end up falling in love with King Stefan which I think is a better back story than the original. Which is basically her being pissed off about not being invited to the celebration of Aurora's birth. But through unforeseen circumstances, She ends up losing her wings thanks to Stefan. Who cuts them off to become King.
Maleficent at the Christening, above played by Angelina Jolie, below the original Maleficent.
Through the movie, it actually shows Aurora growing up, and Maleficent waiting the 16 years. But during this time, Aurora and Maleficent actually meet. And Maleficent begins to open her heart. She tried rebuking the curse....but it doesn't work.

In the end the movie shows that there is something stronger than True loves kiss.....A mothers love. Nothing is stronger than a mothers love.

With the held of Aurora, Maleficent is reunited with her wings and she is finally able to get revenge on King Stefan.

Maleficent steps down and Aurora becomes Queen of the Moors and the Human kingdome and Maleficent gets to live out her long life in peace.

Now Maleficent is also portrayed on Once upon a Time. She appears in Season one..
Maleficent in Season. She is betrayed by Regina and turned into a dragon. She is kept under Story Brook until the season finale.
Maleficent returns in Season four with a whole new look and a whole new mission. Paired with Ursula, Cruella Devil and Rumpelstiltskin...She is on a search for her own happy ending.

Thoughts on Disney's live action Cinderella!

First off, just let me say I have adored the Cinderella story since I was a little girl. I personally think Lily James was a PERFECT choice to play Cinderella. Now I haven't seen the movie yet but based on what I have seen, she is amazing and Cate Blanchette as Lady Tremaine was a brilliant idea. I Love that they are taking classic Disney movies and present them in Live action and revamping the costumes....

I simply adore what they did with her Blue ball gown. I Love the skirt, the corseted top. But I especially love that they incorporated the butterfly into her gown. The butterfly symbolizes strength and change. Changing from a Little Caterpillar to a beautiful butterfly, or in Cinderella's case, from a servant girl, to a princess and Queen.
Helena Bonham Carter, Makes a beautiful fairy godmother, I love her sparkly white gown. And she gives the fairy godmother an air of innocence.
I Really love the softness of her "peasant" dress. It shows her innocence and it still gives her an air of elegance.

Cate Blanchette makes a beautiful Lady Tremaine. I Love the red lips and the sophistication of her dress

I really cannot put into words how much I LOVE her wedding gown. It is so simple yet elegant, and flowing and beautiful. It's Perfect for Cinderella.

So What are your thoughts on the costuming, and Lily James. Do you think she did Cinderella justice or did her performance leave you wanting more. Let me know in the comments what you think on Disney's new Live Action Cinderella!
